CHARLOTTE FARRIS EVENTING
Charlotte is an aspiring event horse trainer and rider based in Howard County, Maryland. She currently focuses on young horses and retraining off the track thoroughbreds. Charlotte takes great pride in the horses she produces herself and those that she helps train for other people. Along with continuing to work with young horses in the future, Charlotte hopes to have the opportunity to move up the levels and develop her skills with a more seasoned horse. This could be one of her own in a few years or a horse that has already been started and brought along by another professional. Having her own solid string of horses and a supportive team is Charlotte's main goal.

ABOUT CHARLOTTE
Charlotte began riding horses at a barn down the street from her house in New Hampshire when she was five years old. In 2011, Charlotte and her family relocated to Maryland, where she continued taking lessons at a small hunter/jumper farm. Here, she had her first lease horses and many naughty ponies to toughen her up.
Charlotte was always up for a challenge. When given the choice between the tiny white pony mare with bucking problems and the older, experienced, straightforward, push button gelding, the tiny white mare would always win. She has always appreciated the reward in having patience and trying to understand a difficult horse.
By age 13, Charlotte could successfully ride all twenty plus horses at the hunter farm. At this point, she got a bit bored with hunter shows and luckily stumbled across eventing. She fell in love almost immediately. Charlotte soon began leasing her first event horse, Canyonleigh Sir Echo "Rocco," and trained with Australian event rider Kate Chadderton for about a year. Kate and Rocco showed Charlotte the ropes and took her around her first beginner novice horse trials. She ended her first eventing season at the novice level and then transferred over to a very cool OTTB named Spotty with Kelley Williams at A Bit Better Farm. Charlotte trains with Kelley and seeks advice from her to this day. After Spots, Charlotte got the ride on a very fun mare named Sierra De Lune SE for a few months. Sierra taught Charlotte more than she could've imagined. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. When Sierra's lease was over, Charlotte spent some months riding many horses between her three favorite barns.
Recently, Charlotte's family generously helped her purchase her very first horse! South Upper "Scooby" is a 2014 OTTB gelding who last raced January 31, 2020. Each day, we are more and more impressed with Scooby's eager attitude and giant heart. The team looks forward to this special little guy's future, and the plan as of right now is to eventually resell him as Charlotte's first horse in the eventing business.
SERVICES

TRAINING
Whether it is on the ground or under saddle, Charlotte would love to help put in the work with your greener horses. She can come to your farm for ground work and training rides. Charlotte suggests working together to create a training schedule that best suits you and your equine athlete.
RIDING + COMPETING
For the more experienced horses -- and the greenies once they're ready, Charlotte makes a great competition rider. In combination with practice rides at home, she can take the ride at shows and move your horse up the levels while increasing their show miles.
SALES
Charlotte can help sell your horse. She is happy to give the horse some fine-tuning and extra mileage before advertising them through her social network and media outlets. This process involves frequently updated pictures and videos that will help get your ad lots of attention. CFE likes to keep the owner very involved in this process.

OWNERSHIP
Charlotte is currently searching for owners who are interested in purchasing new horses and is also looking to take rides for existing owners. Highly talented, quality horses are hard to come by and expensive. If you are interested in an owner/rider partnership with CFE, please contact Charlotte.
SYNDICATION
Horse ownership syndication is when a group of people comes together to purchase a horse for a rider. The Syndicate is comprised of shares purchased by each member of the group. These shares cover the initial expense of purchasing the horse and the annual cost of maintaining the horse, which is predetermined and evenly distributed. Additionally, the annual upkeep costs can be paid as a 100% tax-deductible donation, made through American Horse Trials Foundation. Learn more about syndication at www.experienceeventing.com.
SPONSORSHIP
Companies who sponsor Charlotte will have the opportunity to be recognized as a key factor in the success of CFE. Your brand will receive excellent exposure through social media promotion and association with Charlotte's success. Please contact Charlotte if you are a company interested in sponsoring her journey.
